Plot: In a world torn apart by war, one group reigns supreme as the ultimate superpower. They are known only as The Elite (or the Elitists, as they are occassionally called) and they rule with an iron fist. The Elitists' power come from their almost infinite supply of Soldiers and mechanized battle suits and weaponry known as The PIECES. The Elite rule with little opposition , with the few that do manage to rebel against them find themselves underfunded and ill prepared, unable to make suits of their own.
While the world remains in chaos a small group of people have discovered ancient weaponry known only as M.E.C.H.S. These large Mechanized Suits are the world's last hope in stopping the Elite. Will these M.E.C.H.S be enough to stand against the Elite? Will the chosen Pilots choose to fight against the tyrannical overlords? The answer lies within...
Explanation
MECHS: Not just anyone can pilot a MECH. In order for someone to be able to pilot a MECH that person must have a large amount of psychic energy and be able to bond with the MECH itself. The MECHS are large Gundam-like weapons that are, in a sense, living machines. They have thoughts and feelings and will often share these feelings with their Pilot, which is why a Psychic Link is generally required. A MECH will not operate for someone it can't Link with. Each MECH is unique in it's own way. There are 5 of them in total and are fully aware of one another's existence. However, while the MECHS have feelings it is impossible for them to be fond of one another. It is also impossible for them to hate one another. A MECH is still a machine, a very smart machine, but still a machine. Each MECH is capable of flight and battle in space and on Earth. The origin's of the MECHS are unclear they are extraordinarily old based on previous battle data in their systems. The knowledge they typically share with their Pilots are tips on strategy and tactics.
The Psychic Link allows the Pilot to think and converse with the MECH. In order to operate the MECH the pilot must be inside the cockpit (located in the MECH's chest.) From here they can take complete control of the MECH and operate in any way they see fit. THE MECH WILL DO AS ITS PILOT COMMANDS.
The Psychic energy of the Pilot's manifests itself in a way that allows him/her to converse with the MECH and power the suit. So in actuality the Psychic Link is actually the key to the ignition, so to speak. Once a Link has been established the MECH is bonded and will not be respond to any other Pilot until it's own Pilot passes away, which it will be able to sense through the link.
The downside to the Psychic Link is that while it gives the user control over the mech and insight into supreme battle strategies it makes the mind extraordinarily vulnerable. While minor damage goes by mostly unnoticed, severe damage done to the MECH could be felt by the Pilot. (Ie. If the MECH's arm were to be torn off my another MECH the Pilot would feel as if his own arm had been ripped off. No real damage will have been sustained but the pain will still be there. Likewise if a MECH dies the pilot feels as if they have died and could possibly lose their mind. It would be like feeling that they are dead and knowing that they are dead but their body would be entirely fine. It's entirely possible for the Pilot to enter a catatonic state and never return to normal should their MECH be destroyed, which is why Linking with one is so dangerous.)
Most MECHS require a large facility to maintain them. A M.A.C, or a Mobile Armory Compound, is used to repair damages done to the MECH and upgrade it in any way deemed necessary by the pilot. It is the RPer's choice as to whether or not they have a MAC but they are typically seen as humongous Semi-trucks (aka MAC Trucks) with the back portion storing the large MECH as well as it's assortment of weaponry and armaments. It generally requires 2-3 people to operate a MAC but it is possible to be done alone. However, there must be one person proficient with the MECH's Technology and capable of operating the system by his/herself. *note* A MAC operated by one person would be an extraordinarily time consuming process.
(I think that's all there is on the MECHS if you have anyquestions or suggestions PM me) [The MECHS are roughly the size of a Gundam, like the deathscythe or tallgeese...not like the Pycho...that one was just...too big)
PIECES: So names for their Resemblance to Chess pieces the PIECES are generally made up of Mass Produced Mechanized Battle Suits. They too require Psychic Energy to be piloted but the Elite have found a way to do so in specialized helmets/headbands that enhance psychic ability. The suit's, in order of most produced to least produced as well as weakest to stronges, consist of:
PAWN- (produced in the hundreds of thousands) The most common form of Battle Suit. The Basic Elitist Soldier is able to pilot this with a normal headband. The PAWN is a capable Battle Suit well balanced in both offense and defense.
The PAWN is outfitted with a basic weapons.- Energy gun, energy sword, and shield. The smallest of the PIECES.
ROOK- (produced in the thousands) The ROOK is a battle Suit used primarily for offensive purposes. They are large lightly armored suits and are typically more agressive than the PAWN. In order to use the ROOK an Elitist Soldier would require a lengthy training period and a fair amount of control over the headband. The ROOK relies on it's hard hitting abilty in battle and typically uses two Rapid Fire Energy Machine guns, and energy sword. NO SHIELD. Slightly larger than the PAWN.
KNIGHT- (produced in the hundreds) The KNIGHT is a battle suit typically used for defense. It generally takes two years to master a KNIGHT and requires greater control over the headband. They are heavily armored and typically rely on their powerful shoulder cannons to blow away the enemy. They do not have a shield equipped due to the heavy armor plating and rely on two energy cannons on their shoulders. Many of them use large Sniper Rifles. These should be about as tall as your MECHS shoulder.
BISHOP-(there are perhaps 50 of these with only 50 pilots trained and capable of using them) The BISHOP is a very difficult opponent. The BISHOP is an agile suit and is capable of several maneauvers that are impossible to perform in the other, headband compatable, suits. The BISHOPs are usually outfitted with an arm cannon but rely on their abilty with an energy sword to cut an opponent down. They'll be roughly the same size as a MECH, perhaps thinner and more angular.
QUEENS- (two in existance) One of the three PIECES requiring a helmet to pilot. The QUEENS are considered the Powerhouse of the Elite. There are only four soldiers in the Elite capable of piloting the QUEENS.The Helmet allows the users to tap into two of the three possible Links within the central mind. They are gifted with superb offensive and defensive capabilities. Their Weapons and Abilities are still unknown as of yet. The same size as a MECH
KING- (one in Existance) The Elitists' Trump Card. Piloted by an enigmatic figure known only as Anz. The KING is supposedly the greatest Battle Suit in existance capable of Rivaling the fabled MECHS. It links directly to the Central Mind and taps into all three Psychic Links at once. It's Offensive and defensive capabilities, as well as it's weaponry, are unknown and assumed to be beyond that of anything seen thus far. Size unknown.
*Note* The more sophisticated the suit the more Psychic Power required to use it. Also, the Elitists' suits do not have thoughts of their own and rely on the Psychic energy of their user's to power their fuel cells.
Psychic Energy is not a common power. Very few people have the ability to produce the amount needed to control a suit. Therefore the Elitists rely on two types of Psychic enhancers, headbands and helmets. The Headbands typically magnify the psychic ability a small amount and require training to master. The Helmet's, on the other hand, are extraordinarily difficult to master as they magnify the user's psychic ability a great deal and link them not only with the Elitists Mainframe but also with the Central Mind. Wearing a Helmet is very dangerous as it links the wearers mind with three of the strongest minds in the world. One must have recieved training since childhood to remain sane under the constant mental anguish and even then one's mental stability is not certain.
The Central Mind is in actuallity a group of supremely gifted psychics who have been captured by the Elitists. They are unaware that they are being held prisoner and see the war as a game of chess giving the Elitists the power and stratgey they need to crush their opponents.
(That is it for now. More might be added later so if you're interested keep checking back for updates. As always if you have any questions PM me.)
