He walked into the command center, his gaze instantly fixing on Obsidian as she righted herself and her chair, shaking his head slightly. She definitely had her quirks, but he couldn’t ask for a more loyal team mate, and that was something that made her valuable through all things. He strode over to her, his footsteps confident, agile, and quick as he stopped beside her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
“Obsidian, come with me to the simulator, I think it’s time for an exercise”.
With that he turned, his red coat flapping some as he strode out of the command center, watching as Obsidian got up and followed. He put his code into the keypad, watching the doors slide open as he stepped inside, letting her step in and the doors close before turning to her.
“Make sure you’re ready, because anything could happen in here, and we need to take these simulations as serious as we would real life. Always remember that, because if you’re careless in here, you could get careless in a real battle, and you or an innocent could be harmed.”.
He then turned and looked up.
“Computer, run Obsidian/Archer training simulation”.
The world shimmered as the cityscape of Manhattan appeared before them, skyscrapers, restaurants, and a cadre of swat and police vehicles outside of a bank. The two mutants were on the roof of the building next to the bank, out of sight of the armed terrorists who stood guard of the roof entrance. The wireless earpieces they wore as part of their uniform kept them informed on police radio frequencies, letting them know that a hostage situation was taking place inside.
“Alright, this isn’t an ideal situation, ever. But, your power gives us an edge they don’t have. Get inside, see what information you can attain, then get into a safe spot, report back to me over the com links. I’ve got some guards to disarm”.
With that, he was gone in a blur of red and black. There were two armed guards outside the roof entrance, that lead to a heli pad. He ran up to the first, grabbing him by the wrist and cracking it, before actually picking him up and using him as a club against his buddy. He then pushed the guy onto the asphalt and cracked his face, before turning to the other and upper cutting him, causing him to black out from facial trauma. He was of course holding back, but he’d still done enough to knock the two out of action for a good while. And now he waited, hoping to hear from Obsidian soon. He was gonna give her fifteen minutes, if she hadn’t reported back to him by then, he was going in.

While she had figured Archer was going to make it a point to come to the command center, she hadn't expected him to arrive so quickly. She jumped when she felt his hand on her shoulder, spinning around to face him in surprise.
"Ah." She blinked, not expecting the command. "Okay."
Hah. Excercise. Did the man never stop?! Ah well, she supposed she was overdue for a training session anyway. She followed him into the room where the simulation took place, listening to his words closely and showing she understood with a nod of her head.
"Yessir."
With that, the simulation started; and after listening to her leader's orders she gave a silent nod - she dropped low, hopping down to the roof only right behind Archer; but instead of stopping there, she went clear through the roof, landing on the top floor of the bank in a crouch. She winced, slightly, but ignored the stinging in her legs from landing like that from so high up.
She should work on her tact, she realized. Because if someone had been in that hallway when she dropped through, they could throw away the 'covert' part of the operation. Shaking her head, she sunk back to the wall, edging her way around the corners. Nothing on the top floor. Not yet, anyway. Double checking the area, she figured it was safe to phase down to the next level. Another lucky bet, as she was once again alone. This time however, she could hear muffled voices.
Let's see, how tall was this building? Only five, she was sure, so that meant they were on the fourth. She quietly made her way down the hall, cheering mentally as the voices got louder. Peering around a corner she caught sight of the targets. There were maybe seven that she could see, and just as many, if not more, hostages. Great. With a frown she pulled back and then phased into what appeared to be a supply closet.
"Archer, fourth floor lobby - 7 visible suspects, 8 to 10 hostages. Awaiting further orders, sir." Obsidian murmured, clearly, into the link.

He nodded even though no one was around to see it. Then he pressed a finger up to his com link and spoke back into it for her to hear.
“Affirmative. Good job, Obsidian.”.
He stuck out his hand and ripped the knob off of the solid steel door. It swung open as he stepped in, looking around out of reflex rather then lack of faith in his team mate.
“Obsidian. Report your status and location.”.
Just as he finished asking Obsidian to report, a bullet zipped past his skull and into the wall. Instantly he tucked back into the doorway, knowing he’d made a tactical error. Of course someone was gonna come check when the two roof sentries didn’t report. But he had to stop the guy from radioing to the others. He got an idea as he removed his coat quickly, tossing it down the hall way, listening as round after round fired into it. The man never even noticed Archer zooming at him, till his fist caught the man in the stomach, causing him to leave his feet with a loud ‘umph’.
“Obsidian, hostiles are aware of our presence. If you spot one, take them down as quickly as you can. Meet me in the corner of the second floor, I’m gonna try to take some more of them out. We’re down to six suspects. Remember, our biggest priority is saving the hostages.”.

The blue-eyed girl frowned sharply at the sudden commotion that could be heard through the links. "Archer?" She asked, tightly, worry clouding her eyes.
She swore the next time his voice came through, with more orders. She hoped he'd managed to get to the one who'd discovered him before he could alert the others; though she highly doubted that.
Phasing back into the hallway, she came face to face with one of the targets. They must have spread into a more defensive formation after the guards on the roof failed to report.
She gave the bewildered man a bright smile, as his hand slowly inched towards his weapon, before swiftly kneeing him in the crotch and bringing her elbow down in swift blow to his head. She dusted herself off, and smirked; using a woman's tactics -always- seemed to work. Shaking the bit of gloating off, she turned heal and inched back towards where the hostages were.
They'd moved them. Swearing under her breath, again. She glanced back over her shoulder who was sure to recover soon and quickly left her hiding place. This was going to make saving the hostages alot harder...She stopped, turned around back to the man she'd temporarily knocked out, and confiscated his radio. Right then...now to find out where they'd taken the hostages and for getting to the second floor.

He’d had extra training during his time in his schooling to become a team leader of the AMTU’s New York region. These courses covered psychology of terrorists, and guerilla war fare, as well as how to coordinate a team attack from different positions. He’d excelled in all these courses, which is why he was the team leader of one of the larger regions.
“Obsidian, I’m sure you’re already aware that the terrorists have changed their positions because of our presence. Stay hidden, because soon will come the systematic killing of hostages. Try to stop it if you can, but don’t risk getting yourself caught.”.
The fact that the terrorists wore full body armor and helmets to avoid being identified proved to their advantage. He kneeled down and began to remove the guys clothing, and then put them on his own person. The mask was the last piece, and he stood back up, he spoke softly into his com piece.
“I’m disguised as one of the terrorists. If I can take out their leader, then the rest will fall easily.”.
He then began to move down the stairs, turning a corner and seeing one of the terrorists with his back to him. The chance was perfect, and he silently moved behind the baddie, grabbing his arm and spinning him around, launching a fist into the man’s nose that instantly cracked under the pressure, causing the guy to fall to his knees in pain. A swift round house kick sent the guy into the wall, sliding down unconscious on the floor.
But another one was already behind Archer, the butt of his rifle colliding with the back of his head. He fell to one knee for a second, before he did a back flip to land on the man’s shoulders, pushing him face first onto the floor, before knocking him out with a blow to the back of the head.
He then hefted both the unconscious terrorists onto his shoulders, tossing them into the bathroom, to hide them from their comrades. He had to move fast if he wanted to save the hostages, they wouldn’t have long if the terrorists already knew that him and Obsidian were here.

Obsidian frowned, eyes narrowing as she picked up her own pace. "No way you're doing it alone, Archer. You're not the only one on this mission. I can't very well stop them from killing hostages if I'm hidden, now can I, sir?" She retorted.
She wasn't quite sure how she would be able to tell Archer from the terrorists if they ran into eachother, but she'd just have to use the tactic of taunts. Archer would inform her immediately if it happened to be him, she was sure, or likewise do something to let her know.
Of course, that might not be a problem considering that she had yet to run into anymore terrorists. With a sigh, she resorted back to the comm link and hoping that her leader wouldn't be stubborn and insist that she stay hidden.
"Sir, what's your position? I'm assuming the plan of meeting on the second floor is now void?"
