Some Basic Info and Plot:
The Shin-Ra Corporation is the powerful company which holds power in the world of Final Fantasy VII. Shin-Ra was originally an small weapons company, but after the discovery of Mako energy it expanded into many other areas (space exploration, weapon development etc...). Shin-Ra maintains its own private army, and elite unit SOLDIER (SOLDIER isn't very large just yet. The Turks are also used as a means of recruiting possible members). Shin-Ra constructed the metropolis Midgar - which it ultimately has control over, though it introduced a figure-head mayor.
[The RP takes place as soon as ShinRa has become an Electric Power Company, roughly 25-30 Years before the events of the original Game. A young President ShinRa has declared that an area bustling with Mako energy is to be the sight of his new Metropolis. However, the President's Dream City is still under construction and the Mako Reactor seems to be held off by delay afer delay. The original inhabitors of the lands refuse to give up their land without a fight.
Those who stand in the way of progress have been labeled Terrorists and the task of ridding the land of said Terrorists fall upon the shoulder's of the head of Public Safety, Derrida who has instructed the leader of the Turks to create a Task force with the sole purpose being the destruction of these terrorists and their activities. ]
Shin-Ra is led by President Shinra (and its multi-affairs are divided into several departments.
The Space Exploration Department
led by Raeget
The Weapons Development Department
Led by Ruby. It developed most of Shin-Ra's weapons of war.
The Public Safety Department
led by Derrida
The Science Department led by Professor Sanjanna
The Urban Development Department
Led by Naken
The Investigative Division of General Affairs Department,
Also known as the Turks, led by Gelt.
[The Turks is the unofficial nickname of the Investigation Sector of the General Affairs Department of the Shin-Ra Electric Power Company, under the direct command of Shin-Ra's Head of Peacekeeping, Derrida. The Turks perform black ops on behalf of the corporation, including kidnappings and assassinations.]
Information on ATIC:
Active Terrorist Interception Corps.
The elite of the elite, chosen from the organization known as The Turks, these ShinRa employees handle the really dirty jobs. Their missions range from kidnapping, assassination, to escorting VIP's, and rescue missions.
The Way The RP Works:
You are allowed to roam "free" and do as you would like to do. Basically if you'd like to have your Turk head into a Bar and start some sh*t with a few NPC's it's cool, just make sure your off the clock lol. However, you'll want to check back every so often for Missions and Mission updates.
Missions will serve to advance the overall SL. Yes, there is a gran SL at work here and the missions are a way of having it done and allowing the Rpers to have their own freedom to RP as they like.
